Project: Kitchen renovation
Designer: Linda Cloutier
Cabinetry: Brookhaven Cabinetry by Wood-Mode
Design Goal: Create an open space that is unique, relaxing and functional.

Project Description:
When the homeowners approached Cloutier Kitchen & Baths, they knew their eventual kitchen had to be an open space where family and friends could gather comfortably, uniting the kitchen to the dining and living areas.

The original vision was plenty of white so it felt clean and fresh. At the same time, the cleanliness of the neutral palette would accentuate the warm wood tones used as accents and serve as an accessible color for ease of tying in the other rooms.

Cloutier selected off-white Brookhaven cabinetry made of solid maple, accented with the occasional use of glass doors and even wire-mesh insets on the cabinet doors. The island is a conversation piece with a spectacular walnut top, while the countertops are granite with a leather finish. To give the kitchen a little retro feel, Cloutier added frosted sliding pantry doors. To add an unexpected touch of character to the kitchen, Cloutier and the homeowners came up with using ceramic wood flooring tiles for the backsplashes.

“We are thrilled with our new kitchen. We did all the things that were in my head,” said the homeowner. “Linda was open to our ideas and really wanted out kitchen to be something that we envisioned rather than a project she could put her stamp on. It was cool to see it all come together.”
